Schools & University Movers

Corrigan Moving has had the honor of collaborating with a multitude of educational facilities. We’ve supported public and private schools at the community level, in addition to relocating higher learning complexes and divisions for our nation’s top colleges and universities. We understand the multi-faceted complexities that envelope institutional learning and the burdens put on our nation’s administrators of each standing.

The specifics involved in moving a school or university can be as challenging as the lessons taught. Our skilled moving professionals concentrate in the unique relocation requirements of school systems. Whether your school or university is organizing a new construction, remodeling or is simply relocating classrooms, laboratories or administrative spaces, Corrigan is highly recommended by the area’s most regarded school systems as well as some of the most prestigious colleges and universities across the U.S.

School Movers

While balanced calendars are becoming more widely recognized, regularly, we collaborate with educational facilities with restricted job schedules occurring primarily between the months of June and September. We participate annually in many local school relocations of nearly every difficulty and scale. Though the vast majority of local school moving need our crew to be on-site to move goods and tools to and from brief warehouse facilities during larger building jobs, Corrigan is also able to provide solutions to newly constructed facilities.

A Typical School Relocation: The Assessment

Throughout the move out phase of a project, our crew of trained experts is typically responsible for handling the disassembly of furniture, packing equipment and moving goods to a safe storage facility. And, regardless of its seemingly clear-cut process, there is a slew of details that have to be discussed before moving a school.

To start, and for proper planning, an overall job evaluation must take place. During this process, a commercial relocation professional from the Corrigan team will typically perform a “walk through” of the location or facilities included. He or she will collect info relative to the size and scope of the school moving job, including the whereabouts of all pieces to be moved. Based on the particular project itself, this could be a series of classrooms, offices or departments.

While the primary location is reviewed, our commercial relocation team of professionals will also be identifying furniture and technology involved as part of the move. They will be asking questions, like if any articles will need disassembly and reassembly as part of this project. If disassembly is needed, for cubicles or other business furniture, our experts will also want to know if there’s any rearrangement scheduled for reassembling. In the situation of cubicles, the parts will be put together as they primarily fit the area. During this walk-through procedure, technology such as computer systems, monitors, media and other articles will be noted. Our relocation professional will be determining any disconnect and reconnection work necessary as well as the experience required for each part of technology being relocated. In the case of moving science laboratories, or technology labs, our experts will be extremely cautious to articles requiring special care and handling, valuable equipment along with any specimens or caustic collections being relocated.

While our relocation expert works to document the tangible pieces requiring to be relocated, he or she will also be gauging additional, and perhaps not so clear necessities of the job. When working with Corrigan, along with any skilled craftsman, there’s an extreme sense of knowledge that inherently addresses the out-of-sight and often forgotten essentials non-experts lack. Our team of skilled moving and storage professionals are trained to determine the amount of furniture along with any storage requirements, building protection, along with key entry locations for an added layer of protection. We’ll be determining packing materials and supplies like how many totes, stickers and cartons are required, along with dollies and speed packs needed. Furthermore, our commercial relocation professional will determine the number of people required, and time needed to swiftly complete the demands of each individual project.

Once the details of the project are known, Corrigan’s moving expert is able to assemble the details and calculate a budget for the project.

School Moving: Phase I, Move Out

After the undertaking of ensuring all details are covered, it’s time for Corrigan’s relocation professionals to join and literally do the heavy-lifting. We can brag, without hesitation, Corrigan’s movers are some of the best experienced and skilled movers the business has to offer. With our in-house, hands-on training locations and corporate instructor, our moving crews are the best in the business.

Supplied with the particulars and details documented from the initial job assessment, our moving crew will be ready to do the work needed and keep the project on schedule. During the primary move out stage, our team will ensure the facility is properly protected, including securing all door jams, walls and floors in traveled locations. We will clearly label each location and the pieces being moved, complete any required packing as well as correctly disassemble and pack any equipment needing our crew’s consideration. Our team will appear on-time, with the appropriate equipment to be sure all schedules are reached.

After our moving team has carefully packed all items, they will be moved into interim storage, either on-site or, within Corrigan’s supervised warehouse as decided by the school’s administration. There they will continue to be secured until any necessary construction projects have been handled by other trades.

School Moving: Phase II

Though Phase II of the relocation process for most schools is scheduled, Corrigan understands this is a ballparked schedule pending all other trade work is accomplished. Providing there are no delays in the construction stage of the project, Corrigan will initiate phase II at the initially planned booked day and time.

Really this phase of the school relocation project is opposite of phase I. Our crew will again ensure the building and facilities are appropriately protected, securing all traveled locations, including door jams, elevator entrances, walls and flooring. Furniture will be delivered out of storage and transported to their correctly determined spot. Our moving team will work to put together any furniture, before setting up technology and devices.

Once items are successfully delivered to their final location, and all set up services have been finished, our crew will conduct one concluding walk through with designated school representatives to make sure that all tasks have been appropriately completed to the finest degree Corrigan is known for.
